How to Flash Allwinner Firmware with PhoenixSuit (Step-by-Step Guide)
Introduction
Flashing firmware to an Allwinner-based device is an essential procedure when updating the Android operating system, unbricking a bootlooping TV box, or restoring factory settings on an embedded handheld console like the Retroid Pocket. PhoenixSuit is the proprietary, official flashing utility engineered by Allwinner Technology to burn raw .img firmware packages directly to internal eMMC or NAND flash memory.
Prerequisites Before Flashing
- A PC running Windows 11, 10, 8, or 7.
- The official PhoenixSuit v1.19 Download package extracted to your computer.
- A certified USB cable (USB-A to USB-A male cable for most Android TV boxes, or a high-quality USB-C/Micro-USB cable for tablets).
- The correct stock firmware file ending in .img specifically matching your device's motherboard revision and Wi-Fi chipset.
- A paperclip or SIM ejector tool to press the physical Upgrade/Reset button.
Step-by-Step Firmware Burning Process
Launch PhoenixSuit as Administrator
Right-click PhoenixSuit.exe and select Run as administrator to ensure the process has sufficient kernel privileges to write to USB devices.
Load the Firmware Image
Click the Firmware icon in the top toolbar. Click the Image button, browse your computer, and select your extracted .img firmware file.
Trigger Hardware FEL Mode
